Re: 3G switch off in UK, has anyone tried a 4G USB router?

Matt thank you very much for your reply. You have hit the nail on the head. I need to find a suitable 4G router that consumes as little power as possible.

I bought a TP-Link Archer M400 as it had the lowest power consumption wattage I could find. Also its wifi could be switched off and the MB Pro ...

Re: 3G switch off in UK, has anyone tried a 4G USB router?

Thank you Großvater, that is one option I may need to use. During the summer, when there is electricity power to my holiday lodge, I already connect my MB Pro Red to a mains powered 4G router using WLAN.

Unfortunately my existing 120W solar panel 12v battery is not sufficient to power both the ...

3G switch off in UK, has anyone tried a 4G USB router?

Hi everyone.

EE UK have announced that their 3G cell net service will stop by the end of March 2024. I have a solar powered remote Vantage Vue weather station that communicates with the internet via a MB Pro red with Huawei 3G E3531 USB router. I am assuming this will no longer work when the 3G ...

Re: Meteobridge Pro Red losing connection with Vue ISS #2

Boris thank you so much for this most helpful advice. During the winter there is no one at the holiday park so there will be little RF interference. Thanks again for your continuing support. If only all products had meteobridge levels of after sales support!

I will feed back the results of this ...

Re: Meteobridge Pro Red losing connection with Vue ISS #2

Hi Matt, Thanks again for your suggestion.

I used the graph function remotely, which confirms the breaks are also in the data stored in the MBPR. I did suspect this because if I log into the MBPR remotely while data is not being uploaded to the weather nets, the monitor/live data tab shows no ...

Meteobridge Pro Red losing connection with Vue ISS #2 **solved**

After Boris solved my own contribution to this problem which was caused by my inadvertent addition of a second station, my problems continue.

I have a remote (150km from home) Vantage Vue ISS that usually communicates through a 7627 Davis solar wireless repeater to the MBPR as the MBPR loses direct ...

Meteobridge PRO red losing connection with ISS. **solved**

Hello I would very much appreciate advice. Since October 2017 I have been running a Meteobridge PRO Red with a Vantage Vue ISS, Davis solar repeater 7627 at a location 100 miles from home in my holiday lodge. From November to March there is no mains electricity so the Meteobridge pro red is powered ...

Re: Meteobridge pro red sudden overheating

Well a period of ill health prevented me from visiting my remote station where the MBP Red had been reporting a box climate temperature (thb9temp) of 65-83C. Everything else seemed to be working fine and although I tried rebooting the MBP Red remotely it did not fix the issue.

I have now returned ...

Re: Data usage

Matt gives some excellent advice. I too only update the software manually if there is a problem. For 30 days 11/11/2018 to 10/12/2018 I did not update the software and I did not log in to the web interface. I updated the 4 networks mentioned above every 5 minutes using a usb dongle connected to the ...

Re: Data usage

Greetings Mogwai,

From 27/1/2019 to 9/2/2019 I have used 88MB of 3G data with EE. I update to Windfinder, Wunderground, Metoffice WOW and WindGuru every 5 minutes. I have updated the Meteobridge software once and accessed my MBP Red via its web access on 6 occasions. So that is less than 7MB per ...
