Re: Meteobridge pro red sudden overheating

Well a period of ill health prevented me from visiting my remote station where the MBP Red had been reporting a box climate temperature (thb9temp) of 65-83C. Everything else seemed to be working fine and although I tried rebooting the MBP Red remotely it did not fix the issue. I have now returned to...

Re: Data usage

Matt gives some excellent advice. I too only update the software manually if there is a problem. For 30 days 11/11/2018 to 10/12/2018 I did not update the software and I did not log in to the web interface. I updated the 4 networks mentioned above every 5 minutes using a usb dongle connected to the ...

Re: Data usage

Greetings Mogwai, From 27/1/2019 to 9/2/2019 I have used 88MB of 3G data with EE. I update to Windfinder, Wunderground, Metoffice WOW and WindGuru every 5 minutes. I have updated the Meteobridge software once and accessed my MBP Red via its web access on 6 occasions. So that is less than 7MB per day...

Re: Meteobridge pro red sudden overheating

It may be that the temperature sensor is faulty rather than the unit is running at 65C. Somewhat surprisingly, the indoor temperatures still make sense. I have an indoor temperature offset of -17.4 degrees. The caravan has full height and width double glazed glass wall on its SSE facing side and so ...

Meteobridge pro red sudden overheating

Greetings all, I have been operating a Vantage Vue ISS Meteobridge Pro Red with great success since May 2017. November to March I operate it remotely (200mile round trip from home) using a solar panel, 12v SLA battery for power via a 12V to 5V inverter with mini USB output , a USB Huawei 3G modem fo...

Re: Direction of Peak Gust

Greetings fabio, 20181007-IMG_9259DEW-3.jpg As a fellow windsurfer I appreciate your interest in the direction of the peak gust. I do not know the geography of your sailing location but in my location, cross offshore winds (which are in general great for windsurfing) are very gusty in strength and d...

Re: No connection on Vantage Pro 2 / "can't open /dev/ttyMH"

Hi Chris, as long as it is not raining my MBP Red picks up my Vantage Vue ISS at a range of 400m through a double glazed window! Admittedly the remote location has a very low background RF noise. Also, not only is there a clear line of sight, the ground falls away steeply between the MBP Red locatio...

Re: Using Davis Repeaters with Meteobridge Red?

Yes I have the Davis 7627 solar powered repeater connected between a Vantage Vue ISS and the Meteobridge Pro Red. (The distance between the ISS and the MBP Red is 400m) Under the "station tab" I just have the Vantage Vue ISS chosen with its ID. The MBP Red does not need a special setting for the rep...

Re: Can the MBP WiFI access point be switched off when connected to a Huawei E3531 3G USB dongle?

I managed to fix this WiFi AP problem by doing a factory reset of the MBP red. This has cut the power consumption of the MBP Red/Huawei E3531 to 2.6W (62.4Whrs/day) when reporting every 5 minutes to Windfinder.com. A 100W solar panel connected to an 80Ahr gel battery should be able to keep the combi...

Re: MBP red rebooting failure: "Format Storage" then "Format failed" then "No network found" messages

Boris, I am deeply impressed not only are you working at the weekend, you have powers over Meteobridge Pros that are not connected to the internet and not even switched on!!! :) :) admin> when you connect the MB PRO with an Ethernet cable to your LAN and select "LAN DCHP CLIENT" mode with the pinhol...

Re: MBP red rebooting failure: "Format Storage" then "Format failed" then "No network found" messages

Thank you for excellent suggestion Matt. I have just tried attaching a FAT32 USB stick but no change. I no longer get the Format Storage or Format failed message. It now boots straight to WiFi AP but no WiFi SSID signal is detected. I can still use a pin to alter the boot options. Reboot to LAN resu...

MBP red rebooting failure: "Format Storage" then "Format failed" then "No network found" messages

Hello Boris, May I ask for some assistance for my MBP Red S/N 493 purchased from Prodata in the UK in May 2017? Thank you. On another thread I reported my MBP red had developed a strange problem where the wifi access point could not be disabled when connected to a Huawei 3531 USB 3G modem despite ch...

Can the MBP WiFI access point be switched off when connected to a Huawei E3531 3G USB dongle?

I hope to run my Davis Vantage Vue/MBP station off solar/battery power over the winter and connecting to the internet via a 3G modem. None of the recommended Huawei E160, Huawei E161, Huawei manufactured K3765 USB dongles were available in the UK so I bought a Huawei 3G/21 Mbps Unlocked E3531 High S...

Re: Has anyone tried a 4G USB dongle with MBP?

Well I went ahead and bought a 3G USB dongle. None of the recommended Huawei E160, Huawei E161, Huawei manufactured K3765 USB dongles were available in the UK but I bought a Huawei 3G/21 Mbps Unlocked E3531 High Speed USB Portable Dongle Modem for £21 which seemed a low enough price to take the risk...
