Re: MBPro - ATP 8GB USB showing as 7.0GB?
Unfortunately many decades ago hard drive manufactures decided that it would be better to round off to 1000 instead of the proper 1024 for any given storage quantity. And this false advertising has become an industry standard now. This then results in: 8 GB = 8000 MB instead of the realistic 8192 MB...

Re: WD SLC SD cards out of stock - alternatives
During your tests connect the RPi4 HDMI-1 interface to a monitor, then you can see what's all going on. :) Also seeing what all happens during start-up when using the SD card is pretty insightful. Okay I'll have to try adding an HDMI monitor. The thought hadn't occurred because all my Raspberry Pi ...

For a mere $300 https://www.amazon.com/INNODISK-DC1M-16GD71AC1QB-iCF9000-Industrial-Standard/dp/B07B44RJ4Q/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=16gb+slc+card&qid=1614112044&sr=8-4 I don't see how that is relevant. The link provided is to antiquated and incompatible Compact Flash storage technology. Was tha...

Re: WD SLC SD cards out of stock - alternatives
Well I tried a MB RPI image on USB SSD with a spare Raspberry Pi 4 and it seems do something based on the LED lights, but it never pulled a DHCP address even though the Ethernet LEDs are blinking and the Pi power LED seems to indicate that it started. So something started...I just can't get to it. M...

Re: WD SLC SD cards out of stock - alternatives
One key difference though with the Meteobridge PRO is that when you opt to use an external USB for the database the internal USB is SLC for the OS and Meteobridge software. Therefore just putting the database on USB SSD is only addressing half of the problem. My suggestion is that perhaps USB SSD bo...

Re: WD SLC SD cards out of stock - alternatives
Oh wow I never thought that this secret tip (hidden in /root/start.sh) would come out from admin. :D Sometimes it pays to poke around  Now I don't have to feel apprehensive for having selectively shared that secret tip with a couple friends. But I strongly advised them to replace the SD car...

WD SLC SD cards out of stock - alternatives
This is a cross site post: https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=41561.0 Out of all of the supported SLC SD cards the WD SDSDQED model (in various storage capacity sizes) seems to be the best option based on price for any given size and also among the best in speed performance. Unfortunately it se...

Another option to consider is to instead use a WeatherLink Live to feed the Meteobridge PRO.

Are you using an approved SLC SD card? What does the top section of the System / Information tab show for storage?

Re: Missing Solar Data on Weather Display Console
I would head over to the WD forum https://www.weather-watch.com/ and ask there as it seems like this is no Meteobridge issue.

Re: Problem with Meteohub on Raspberry Pi Model 3
There is no "power charger" when referring to Raspberry Pi. It is a "power adapter" or "power supply" or "power brick"...etc. This is because there is no "charging" occurring.

Re: Samba shares no longer available after Win10 update (fixed)
What's the chance of updating the meteohub app to smbv2? Good information find! The statement from Smartbedded is that Meteohub development is stopped. The recommendation is to migrate to Meteobridge. The Meteobridge on Raspberry Pi hardware is a very compelling upgrade. I realize this is a an old ...

Ah okay. So the Meteobridge PRO does not enforce SLC USB but it does ship with one installed. Correct?

Re: Two systems lisning to the same weather station get different results **solved**
I have just tested with a uSD card reader, and a 64GB uSD card I had lying around. I was able to get this to work. I plan to replace the random uSD card with this: https://documents.westerndigital.com/content/dam/doc-library/en_us/assets/public/sandisk/product/memory-cards/max-endurance-uhs-i-micro...
