Good idea Jos, I'm going to try this. Where can I find the solar calculator you used on your site?

Henk,
You can find the solar calculator here: http://www.stella-maris.org.uk/maxsolar.php.
On my webpages you just had to click on the-calculator screendump.
When you worked this out give us your web-url, would be nice.
Good luck,
Jos

Re: Solar in a jar for "dummys"
Hi Jos, what a coincidence to find you with a solution for solar in a jar
I always used that when I was working with WD, but with Meteohub there was no solution until now.
Bought me a jar and put a sensor in it.
It's already on my site, but watching it carefully for better finetuning.
I'm curious how and if it works
See my website.

Hi Jos,
really interesting.
For putting the right sensor in the jar it would be helpful to know which is the max. temperature in the jar.
In addition it might be helpful to see a picture of your "additional JAR sensor".
Thanks in advance

Re: Solar in a jar for "dummys"
I don't know yet what the maximum tempreture will be in summer. My Jar is running since 2 month now. I think tempreture can in summer go up to >60ºFor putting the right sensor in the jar it would be helpful to know which is the max. temperature in the jar.
I don't have a picture availeble. It is an Oregon THGR810 in an empty (0,6 ltr.) pickle jar with the lit downside. In addition it might be helpful to see a picture of your "additional JAR sensor".

Jos, it's working, the only problem I have that sometimes the values are negative, any idea how to limit the value to zero??idociko wrote:As simple as effective. Working in just 10 minutes!

I make use of the negative value's. At night when Wqm is negative the sky is clear, when Wqm is positive the sky is cloudy.
