MeteoBridge Relay issues

Post by pcmwn »

Hi,

I have just set up a davis vantage pro 2 with weatherlink ip to my MeteoBridge. MeteoBridge is reading the data OK and all seems to be fine with it, howeever I cannot connect via WeatherLink when it is connected to the LAN port on the MeteoBridge. And I note that when I attempt a ping of the WeatherLink IP from my computer I get duplicate packet issues:

64 bytes from 192.168.0.30: icmp_seq=0 ttl=62 time=28.275 ms
64 bytes from 192.168.0.30: icmp_seq=0 ttl=62 time=29.272 ms (DUP!)

I also note that for some reason my router (Netear WNDR4000) thinks that the MeteoBridge has got the IP address of the WeatherLink IP - even though I connect to the MeteoBridge via its own IP address (192.168.0.130)

Any help appreciated.

Looks like you force them by static IP settings in the devices or at your router to identical IPs. That will make trouble.

No, They are on different IPs - something strange happening.

So both IP's are fixed static or mixed DHCP/Static?

I am running VP2 WLIP (via cisco switch/DLink wireless broadband router) and have not seen this one but at this point my WLIP/s are all fixed, MB/s are DHCP but will eventually fix the MB IP also and run both via dual port M2M. Network wise all appears to behave pretty good.

Hi All,

In case anyone else gets this, I found that I have to turn off the forwarding of broadcast traffic for the Relay network device. - see attached.

This has resolved all my issues.

Peter.

I may have spoke too soon.

It worked fine for a while, but has failed again - lost contact with weather station - possibly when the DHCP on the WLIP expired.

This setting did however stop the DUP packets on ping.

Back to the drawing board.

What puzzles me is that it is working fine for the other users.
Still wondering what makes you setup special.
