MB Pro stuck on Landing Page after reboot and Reset

Post by landwirt »

Hello there,

i had my new MB-Pro working fine for some days with my Vantage Pro2 and upload to WU and get some XML Data via XML in my HomeMatic System.

After a few Days now, i get no fresh Data from my Vantage. I have no idea why. The Davis Console is showing new data.

So i have made a reboot (at now i hvae full normaly access to the webgui) and the the MB stuck in the landing page.
First i make a LAN Reset - same result.
Then i go to Factory settings with the same result. LED i still fast flashing and LCD shows my LAN IP.

I would like to hear some tipps :)

Same problems here.

Meteobridge stuck in reboot because http://connect.meteobridge.com/ and http://tau.meteobridge.com/ can not be reached.

Question is why the device wanted to restart anyway?

Hello,

http://connect.meteobridge.com/ and http://tau.meteobridge.com/ are reachable on the same IP adress (198.50.144.56).
I reache them though a ping and a telnet on port 80.

Maybe a ping but not for loading templates and not for loading the stack:

Meteobridge Landing Page (FW 1.4)

Code: Select all

You got here, because Meteobridge application stack you wanted to access could not be loaded from the Internet.
Most common reason for that is a bad network configuration of the Meteobridge device, that keeps the unit in endless fast blinking LED mode. From here you can do one of the following:
. . .
Name: connect.meteobridge.com
Address 1: 2607:5300:100::38
Address 2: 198.50.144.56 tau.meteobridge.com

Dont ask me why but my i back now after many hours.

Ive made a reboot then it takes normaly time to came back on.

But yesterday and now the Mb says "no internet access" but he has internet and i can connect from outside of my wan as before on it. So something is wrong.

Now i will config it back (have no backup) and will test all.

We are having a similar problem. The device reboots, and then is stuck at the black "NO WAN IP" screen for some time.

During this time you can SSH into the device. It has a valid LAN IP, good DNS servers, and can reach the internet without issue.

If you run 'top' during this time you can see a long-running wget command. As soon as this wget command drops off the process list the meteobridge software begins working correctly. (Although we're having intermittent issues with it still showing "NO WAN IP".)

My guess would be that whatever service it's using to get it's WAN IP is unstable. ('wget -qO- checkip.dns.he.net' succeeds every time without issue, even while the device is apparently locked.)

What build version are you guys running?

I have changed my setting in the SYSTEM tab to "Use Installed Version" in case there was a newer build update after the one I have which is causing this issue now. My MBP has not had this problem so far.

I am running this on mine:

Meteobridge 2.8 (Mar 13 2016, build 9559), FW 1.4

Okay... I am now seeing the "No Internet Access" message in my SYSTEM tab, but the MBP is still listed on my router as being connected to the LAN and I can login to it normally. It is also still sending data to all the weather sites as well as posting strings to Twitter.

So... At least in my case, this message does not seem to be valid, and the MBP is indeed getting internet access.

Code: Select all

Meteobridge 2.8 (Mar 13 2016, build 9559), FW 1.4
Ive made no changes there so it is "newest on start"

And yes, the message is not correct. MB has access to the Wan.

Changing that option to "Use Installed Version" is a good way to avoid getting a potentially bugged update when you reboot the MBP. But obviously in this case, I was too late since unless this is some kind of server side issue, then apparently 9559 introduced this Internet status bug. ;)

I'm sure Boris will get this fixed in the next update. At least its a harmless issue as far as I can tell. :D

EDIT: I am seeing my WAN IP address again on the system page. Must be a server side deal.

Ok, ive changed it to stay on installed now.

But all these have nothing to do with the issue today or?

I'm not sure. I am seeing my WAN IP address again. Are you still seeing the No Internet Access message?

From what I have seen with this issue we have discussed here, is that the problem was likely external to our MBPs, although I can't say that with 100% certainty. I don't know enough about this product to make that assumption. :) But either way, my MBP continued to function normally even when I was seeing that error message.

As for that download on reboot setting... If you want the latest version as they are released, you would want to change that back to where it was before. The advantage of staying with the installed version is if you are happy with your MBP's performance with your installed version and would prefer to wait for feedback from others on a newer version of the OS before allowing your box to download that newer version. :) Just in case the next version ends up having some kind of bug or problem that effects your MBP's performance or uptime.

Guess we need to wait to hear from the "Admin" to determine if we need an update to prevent that message in the future.
