Wrong precipitation after reboot (VP2 + MBP) **solved**

Post by StefanV »

Hello,

Last week I bought a new Vantage Pro 2 wireless and I managed to get it all working well with the Meteobridge Pro. I really like the flexibility for me as a web developer. But I noticed there's something wrong with the rain total amount after a reboot, when the Meteobridge Pro freezes. It happened two times now, and I can reproduce the problem.

What happens is, that when the MBP crashes or freezes, I manually reboot it (by disconnect the power cable). After the reboot the raintotal for the day is the amount that's shown on the VP2 console + the month rain total amount. So, today, I got 11mm of rain/snow here. After a reboot tonight around 20:50h the amount changed to 24.2mm. I manually changed it back to the 11mm, but I'm wondering if this problem is already known and if there's a fix for it.

I just reproduced the problem by unplugging the power cable so the MBP shuts down immediately, after that I plugged the power cable back in the MBP so it boots. After booting the rain total amount is too much:

Did you succeed in reproducing the problem? And if so, any news on a bugfix in the near future?

Not yet. But at least the freezing should be history after a power-cycle or do you still have this?

It did freeze last night around 00:05. I've rebooted around 09:45 and the raintotal for that minute was around 40mm of rain. So the bug is still there unfortunately.

Besides, I've found another bug. We've had some rain here around 12:45, total amount of rain from that one rain shower 3,6mm rain. Max rainrate was 77,4mm/hr at 12:43. My VP2 console shows 3,6mm rain today (before this shower, there has not been any rain at all). But for some reason, Meteobridge doesn't get the right amounts of rain. I've never seen this before, a few weeks ago the amounts were correct.

This is the data without correction:

This is what it should be (after correction):

Any idea what could have caused this bug?

Today same story... :( a short but heavy rain shower, rainrate max 240mm/hr, but it seems to not register all of the rain data. Maybe it's because it does not have the data from 14:25?

Hi,

There's still no bugfix for this problem.

Please check this YouTube video to see what happens when I manually reboot the Meteobridge Pro.

I have the same problem. After each reboot, the first entry of rain0tota is incorrect.

Thanks for the video. Can you please give me remote access to your MB PRO.
As I was not lucky to reproduce the bug here, this would really help to get it nailed short term.
Please send remote access URL and password to "info(at)meteobridge.com".
