Occasion weird data **SOLVED**

My equipment is a Ambient WS-1090 conected to a DIR-505 via a an unpowered USB 2 hub into the DIR-505 loaded with Meteobridge 3.2 build 10821. Screen shot below of the system page showing no errors. (screenshots of system page and live data too big for here, can emsil if it'll help}.

The WS-1090 shows zero precipitation and the temp here has been below 32F all day, but WU shows blips all at about the same time in temp, dew point, pressure and one of the precipitation jumps.

I have attached screen shots of the blips in WU's station data and looking at live data show Meteobridge 'read' those values.

What could be causing this?

In addition, just got notice from AWEKAS deactivating my station sensors because of invalid data.

"
The administrator has added the following note: Rain is false. Yet on investigation, all other reports are jumping up and down. Similar errors on Weather Underground. If fact, you have errors most days. Please check your software. 15 inches of rain in a week?

Again.. Neither console is showing invalid data, just meteobridege.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

As a possibility, I put the orignal powered USB hub back in place. It is the only hardware that has changed since I setup and installed meteobridge. We'll see how things go with it. For the first week, using the original hub, data had been fine and WU had given me a 5 star rating (now removed).

Over 24hrs, no wild data. Also set meteobridge to reboot once a day starting tonight.

Won't say solved yet, but looking good so far.

Another 24 hrs of solid data.. I am going to blame the USB hub as nothing else changed and putting back the original powered hub seems to have fixed the issue.

Well.. Maybe not quite so solved, got a "rain" spike and minor temp spikes at about 3am today. My console says 0 rain but meteobridge reported 0.71" of rain. Guaranteed we got zero rain or precipitation of any kind.

SO... I replaced the meteobridge hardware from a dlink DIR-505 with a dlink DIR-505L which has better voltage regulation than the DIR-505. Set it up, had the license transfered and copied in the backup of the config I had saved (to avoid retyping a bunch of stuffl.

Working fine.. we'll see how it does in a day or two.

I was interested to see your post as I have been experiencing a similar problem using the same weather station (albeit branded a ClimeMet CM2000) with data submitted to WU. This typically manifests itself with a spike in air pressure or, as in the past two days, with a ridiculous wind speed (or both).

I am currently using the TP-Link TL-MR3020 hardware and Meteobridge v3.2 (Feb 11 2017, build 10943). However, I also experienced a similar issue when using EasyWeather software to submit data to WU. Therefore, I suspected the problem was related to the USB connectivity, as the data on the console appeared correct. I am using a passive USB 2.0 hub with the TL-MR3020 (although the hub was not required when using EasyWeather).

Interestingly, looking at the messages posted on the Meteobridge 'System' tab, the latest spikes seemed to coincide with a message that reads
"logger (14.02.2017 15:04:52): Bad th0(0) sensor data, "temperature x10" (17233) out of range [-500:2000]". Therefore, Meteobridge recognised that the temperature data was erroneous and trapped it, but presumably because my wind speed of 193km/hr(!) was within the art of the possible, it got through as did a small blip in air pressure. It's a pity that Meteobridge doesn't exclude all the data from the logger for that time instant, if one element is deemed 'bad'.

It would be good if you could provide another update in a couple of weeks' time if your set-up is still running smoothly. Similarly, if other members have experienced a similar issue with this hardware setup and solved it, any advice would be appreciated.

I reverted to meteobridge 3.1, I have it auto reboot once a day and it has been solid. I am using a powered USB 2.0 hub (Amazon Basics) as I had more errors using an unpowered hub.

On a couple of occasions, the spikes I saw SEEMED to correspond with a new release if meteobridge. Initially, in particular the rain rate and amount were impossibly high, as in zero rain but meteobridge showin 15" of rain in a few hours. The console showed zero rain, and in fact we had zero rain or snow.

I was using a dlink DIR-505 that I converted into a meteobridge and that particular router model was known to have some voltage stability issues. I replaced it with a dlink DIR-505L and that helped a lot.

My *suggestion* is to set your meteobridge to stick with 3.1 and to use a powered USB 2.0 hub (not USB 3 hub).
