Estate Purchased VP2

Post by dennisanderson »

I'm not sure this is the correct forum, but here goes...
I have a Vantage Vue that's been functioning beautifully for four years. I've wanted to get it online with WU, but the cost was prohibitive. I recently purchased a VP2 at an estate sale thinking I could use it to get online. Following is the information from the back of the unit:
IC: 3788A-6312
Mfg.Code: A50915A41
Model: 6163
Bar: NC
HUM: NC
Final Insp: HN

It also has a WeatherLink Data Logger installed.

It's communicating well with my instruments.

I'm considering using Meteobridge and flashing a TP-LINK TL-MR3040.

What type of WeatherLink Data Logger do you have (WLIP, Serial, USB?)

if WLIP then that will upload straight to WU, MB will also upload to WU and give you a lot of other/more options as well.

USB logger can connect to WeatherLink Network but requires a yearly subscription etc.

Go the MB way, will be cheaper in the long run and much more flexible
