Non working RF **solved**

Post by besty1967 »

I bought a meteobridge pro from Prodata in the UK to add to my Davis Vantage Vue. I'm able to connect and use it by usb but it wont do anything via RF. I've followed the advice on wiki and set it up as a RF strength meter but I'm not getting anything on it. I get the data section with'--' but no second section for the strength of RF signal. To me this sounds like a faulty box or aerial. It is set up for wifi network and internal rf receiver on ISS transmit station 1. The ISS is only about 35feet from the meteobridge pro next to the vue console. I have tried retransmitting the data from the console but still no signal strength is shown on the pro readout. The led for the rf only flashes when it first reboots and then only for a few times then nothing after that.
The wifi side of the box works fine for pc to pro communication but its only the rf side that is not working.
I have spoken to Prodata and they said I should post it on here and see what anyone can think of.

Hope someone has an idea as I can't do anything about changing the box with prodata till I've had some advice.

This is the message log for the last reboot done with the rf settings all applied, no mention of ISS or RF in any parts. Hope it helps.

You didn't specifically mention but I assume your Vue is an EU version and the MB RF is set to EU868?

Sorry yes that is correct, but I have tried on the US settings also, both sets of equipment were bought from the same outlet. I've set the MB rf to EU 868 and the station to #1 for the Vue ISS

Try setting the RF Sens (Station tab) from the default (-90db) to around -80db Narrow and give it a good 5-10 minutes, Davis & MBPro can take a little while to sync up at times.

After your last email I did what was suggested and after about 1 hour I checked the MB. It still shows nothing, on the display on the front of the MB I'm not getting the dashed lines for the rf strength only the normal dashes where the outdoor sensors readings would be. This is the log after I did the recommended changes.

can you please setup remote login and send URL and password to "info(at)meteobridge.com".
I would like to have a look. RF should work fine, when configured correctly.

I'm away from the PC this weekend, I will be able to do it Monday evening. How do I setup the remote? I found the link, I'll set up on Monday. Any particular time?

I've been able to get sorted today, have emailed the required things.
