Currently I have my Meteobridge connect by ethernet to my home modem/router.
I can log on to Meteobridge no problem.
What I would like to know is if I go to the Network tab and enter an SSID and password
which belongs to my Huawei E5377 mobile modem, then change the network setting from LAN to WLAN
would I be able to connect. I am a bit concerned I may damage Meteobridge doing this.
My main goal is to eventually do away with my ISP and go mobile.

Bit the bullet and tried it. It did not work nor did it break Meteobridge. Only had to do a full reset and setup to get going again.

I have seen a micro USB to ethernet adapter that goes into these modems. Wondering if that will work?
Anybody tried one of these adapters?

Colin if I understand you correctly you want to connect the meteobridge device to a Huawei E5377 modem.
I have 3 meteobridge devices connected to Huawei modems wirelessly (they are very similar to E5377)

Make sure you set a fixed ip address on your meteobridge (in my case 192.168.2.104)

Thanks Leon, I will give it a try. I never tried assigning a fixed IP.

Did not work. Meteobridge just cannot find the Internet. Works on home wireless network, just not this device.

setting DNS to 8.8.8.8 might do the trick.

It certainly was a good trick. It now connects okay and can now connect Meteobridge to the Huawei device.
