meteobridge TL-MR3020v3 **solved**

Post by Leon »

My meteobridge seems to be unable to communicate with my Davis vantage vue....
This started at 4 am this morning without any changes to anything.
I have rebooted without success.
Please see attached screen shots.
Any suggestions ?
Regards,
Leon Rossouw.

  • Did you check the USB cable if it is properly seated?
Disconnect and then firmly reconnect it on both ends.
  • Can you also post a screenshot of the "WeatherStation" tab?

Thank you for your prompt response...I am frustrated because station was working properly for months and currently I am not there.
I am logging in remotely.
Problem seems with communication between station and meteobridge.
I have not changed anything at all.
see attached screenshots

Leon.

Then the only thing you can do is "wait and see".

Most of the times, 80% or more, it is a simple cable problem, They become disconnected over time because of stress on the cable, temperature changes, cats or mice, a.s.o.

When it is a "device failure" it is probably the power or batteries of the console. Another 19%

Loggers or consoles itself nearly never fail

But you have to be there to inspect and find the cause.

I see you have the latest version (Sep 22, build 1145), did you update this specifically and do you normally run with Version Control set to "get newest on boot"?

I normally run script to reboot early morning and run version control to get latest firmware on reboot.
I have 4 meteobridge stations running and none of the others have problems...also running latest firmware.
The other meteobridges are TL 3020 version 1 and this one version 3 but it was running a whole 24 hrs without any problems on latest version firmware.
It is just weird because no-one touched it and has been running flawlessly for months.
I am only going to be able to physically check all later this week as I am currently away and logging in remotely.
I can always forward login details and passwords if you would like to remotely login yourself ?
Thank you,
Regards,
Leon.

You also said in your first post

That is a little conflicting. So better do a manual reboot to a previous version, just to exclude the 0.1% chance that the problem is caused by the sep 22 version.
success, Wim

Yes would drop it back a version even thou the others have no issues as there is certainly a match with the reboot time and there is a difference in 3020 model versions

Leon, So do you have no mains power or simply running the Vue on batteries only?

Helo Matt
I do have mains powerat this particular station but I am simply running the station console on batteries only.
It is due to my own negligence...
I just couldn't think that I would overlook such a simple issue :(

Leon.
