Of course time will tell with the Nano being such a new product but with hindsight it is very well known that consumer quality cards really don't have the quality or technology to support what is really a server class environment which is what SLC cards are specifically made for. This was proven with the Meteobridge and there should be no difference with the Nano.

Obviously one can't stop users from installing any card they want (however the Nano will) but they obviously do this at their own risk and should not be expecting any comeback, and standard everyday (cheap) card technology will fail but in this case the Nano won't let that happen as it simply won't accept non approved cards. At the end of the day it's really not how much the card cost but how valuable was the data that disappeared, hardware can be replaced, data can not but in any case one requires good data management practices as nothing is absolutely perfect and even the best may fail, storage does not have an infinite life but some technologies do it just that much better than others.

And yes you have to go beyond the common store, common stores are typically only dealing with consumer grade stuff in quantity and most consumers really don't understand all the differences between technologies and will typically buy based on price, but in this case you really get what you pay for.

Also you do need to check prices even with suppliers. Mouser and Digi-Key are good sites to start.

I assume that when using an existing console+nano
1. one has to power off the console
2. remove the nano
3. insert microSd card in the nano
4. reinsert the nano in the console
5. power on the console.

6.1 The already installed Meteobridge software will then detect the SD card
6.2 and change itself to a Nano-SD

Is that the correct procedure?
Is there no difference between Nano and Nano-SD firmware as there is no new release after 3.8 released November 6, 2018

My Dutch supplier will not sell or distribute the SD cards, so I have to wait for delivery by Mouser.

Wim
I probably missed some text somewhere.
All works OK but:
1. When inserting the card and restarting there is a message that the Sd card is not supported.
Ignore that as it is caused by the old firmware. After upgrading the firmware the message is gone.

2. Indoor Temp Offset: -7C.
The console temp is not affected anymore by the offset. The live data tab shows 24 C, but the console shows 31

3. All historical data is lost.
Todays data for outside temp sensors does not show when restarted also
All historical data starts with first sensor measurement after inserting the SD card.
Will this be the case when removing the SD card. So there is no external storage for the NanoSd as with other Meteobridge devices?

4. Error messages It started with this

Re: Meteobridge NANO SD - a NANO with local storage

Now the nano SD failed to end the reboot.

When I checked it at 15:38 it shoed the message
System Message
Warning: Meteobridge not fully started yet. Please lean back and wait a moment...

I waited 5 minutes => nothing changed
removed power + wait 20 seconds + add power => same situation

After 10 minutes I removed power, removed the SD add power => the Nano rebooted as a plain Nano and showed all history also.

Removed power, inserted SD , added power => Nano reboots as NANO SD
But does NOT proceed after the red message, one can not access the tabs in the meteobridge.
Red light on nano is solid
One can ping the device, replied in 10ms
One can connect in different browser, accepts correct password => shows only red message
One can connect using SMB and the folders + contents are shown OK
One can connect using SSH but the meteobridge default and modified password are not accepted and connection is closed

I am lost,

Is this a swissBit microSD or not? What is the FW version?

All legal and new from Mouser.
Admin mailed me when he was working on it last night.
that happens when new sensors are recorded in the database. I did a few tests an can reproduce it.
Reboot added one extra field to the database every reboot, after the last reboot just now even the yesterday fields are all populated.
Platform: Meteobridge NANO SD
RAM: 125568 kB total, 67456 kB free (46% used)
Storage: swissbit SLC, 1825 MB total, 1812 MB free (1% used)
SW Version: Meteobridge 3.8 (Nov 12 2018, build 1345), FW 1.3
Uptime: 0 hours, 18 minutes Buffer: 1 items (0%)

All OK.

And this is the only miscroSD that has ever been in the Nano?

Yes, I recieved the new VUE console + new Nano last week, the SLC yesterday. The nano was operational until I removed and inserted the SLC.

We had some problems when changing sqlite storage mode from DELETE to WAL. This should be solved by now. Current MB software version should handle a fresh micro SD card fine again. The problems are not related to a certain card type.

All should be good. I would update to the latest version first, then power it off, insert the card and follow the messages re FW update etc. Very straight forward.

One can not do that with a MB-Pro or NANO-SD on the live data tab. It has to be done on the History tab.
