Re: Weather34 MB-SMART SMART TV

Post by weatherist34 »

too cut a long short needed to buy another SMART TV for one of our spare bedrooms have some friends from the UK staying for a week soon .. anyway I went out and bought a cheap smart tv 32" the built in OS is called ANDROID TV and has all the facilities for internet i.e ethernet(Lan), wireless amongst . comes with standard browser called Puffin browser.
So out of curiosity once all setup to the internet via Lan I did the obvious and voila it works out of the box with I guess only some minor adjustment in the css needed to show everything..so this cost around $100 when local currency is converted so just thought id share that if you fancy a large permanent screen display also i.e 32'' hanging on the wall then the ANDROID TV based ones weather34 stuff is good to go out of the box..

Hi Brian,

Nice addition for Android TV I have a Sony which is Android based and I've downloaded the Puffin Browser. Will give it a try.
My Console page is now showing the Indoor Option which is looking for the /console/indoor-tablet.php in place of Summary can we get the Summary back as well

I will give the TV option a try the set is a 55" should be pretty Impressive .. :-)

It Looks Great on the 55" set. From the pics of yours mine displays the same way needing scrolling down to see the options.

cool yes ours is upstairs and running up and down stairs to check for css changes gets a bit knackering , so i went with this for now but im sure once our guests have left ill bring it down stairs and polish it off so everything is visible have fun and 55” that should be impressive and easy on the eye .. it does work in chrome and firefox for android tv but you cant hide the url , toolbar so when using firefox or chrome it takes a large swamp of the space at the top and pushes it further down.. puffing browser is mostly or highly recommended from various reviews when using android tv ... the popup android disappears after 5 seconds

When you can get to it .. :-)

On the 55" it is easy on the eyes for sure. I noticed on the TV the Summary won't come up clicking the Dot but Forecast works OK I tried the TV on my PC and you can see the Summary selection change to the finger just below the Summary Dot and Text then it can be selected. On the TV there's no finger change I realize but moving the pointer down as far as it will go does not work for selecting Summary however Forecast works as expected.

Hi Brian,

All is looking Good so far and working as well on TV Console ans Reg Console.

Thanks for the Quick Fix.

I see the requests for swapping the Wind Modules I believe they should be left the way they are. Currently they are displayed in the same visual order the Nano-SD's console displays them. The only change I would request is add Wind to the Title of the Left module so it's Wind Average.

this is currently in the works and George had suggested something along those lines of re positioning last month , however its 50% done and needs to be implemented in the updater file but the settings options are done .once I have done the updater file it will be the tedious task of checking languages. unfortunately languages are the thing that prevents ideas moving forward quickly but I do try and accommodate languages best I can .

so far this is where it is at with each module position being optional . when this is fully released you would need to make all the necessary choices due to the updater file will be looking for these options. by default all are options are set as it is now .

screenshot but I have no timeline when this will become available.

Brian, this is really great. Can you add another option for the notification on/off?

yes all done look out for this next week ... languages so far all look ok so its important due to the new options/changes in settings you will have to apply your settings old settings file won't recognize the newer options available 14 new options !! .

**those on auto update you will get an email with this highlighting settings are required to be updated I do not keep or store passwords..

fortunately all languages worked as per previous so that cut out at least two or three days . I pushed the updates to GitHub and update file.

its really important you read this ..

adds 13 positions for end user to choose how they want modules aligned /
adds notifications enable or disable option
*important sorry must re apply settings once updated to recognize new options .
*9 files updated in this update

I added a small graphic in the setup screen to aid those not familiar so I hope this is answers those emails/comments about positioning . the choice is yours and you can place any module in any position you want . personally I think it opens up the door for a few mishaps or duplicate modules showing if not correctly set .

screenshot of set up screen with additional options.

ps Ron I overlooked your request sorry.. its been a long day was up at crack of dawn to watch the boxing the Gipsy King rules :-)
