Re: Weather34 TEMPLATE

Post by jasonmfarrow »

Brian,

If we've missed an update (eg 6th June), what's the best way to catch up? Upload the whole template again?
Is there any way to list a cumulative update from the last major update.
I'm on 6.34 and have added most (but I think not all) the standalone updates. A catch-up update might help those who've skipped a few.

Regards.
Ps. Would you be able to add the "data updated" timestamp in the header to the weather34-tv header? Knowing if we've a data loss/interruption based on update timestamp is good. As opposed to waiting for the "offline" pop-up.

Cheers
Regards
Jason

(560kb) Standalone-update-08-06-2020.zip just added should contain everything you need to be upto date .
https://weather34.com/homeweatherstatio ... alone.html

yes just in time I added the smart tv data updated so its in the above simple update also a new splash screen option in setup so please run the setup screen to choose either yes or no . 99% will choose no but its there for a reason not an annoyance hence the option to display or not.

Brian,

An observation of alignment in Barometermod.php: There is a difference between light and dark .css
Screenshot 2020-06-09 at 9 June 2020 20.13.16 pm.png

The dark aligns the year max/min and month max/min to the right under the modulecaptionpresure. The light css has a much bigger right margin. The same sort of light vs dark css mis-alignment can also be seen in directionmod.php.

Feel free to tell me to not be so picky for a free weather display system. ;-)

noted thanks Jason perhaps my eyes are failing but i dont see this has a significant issue so ill jot it down and update sometime soon.

fwiw with the advent of support for tp link types in the current version has brought unwarranted verbal from gw1000 ecowitt users therefore in the next release tp link types will be supported only when Davis hardware is used as a primary source . its quite shocking the level of how some vent their frustrations and once again waking up,to a unwarranted verbal email just deters me from showing or offering any support for that hardware configuration . template will not work with non davis hardware , in the period i reverted to only supporting Nanosd / davis hardware combination i never received anything un constructive it was all constructive well thought out contributions. lastly i do not own anything ecowitt so chances of me contributing or resolving ecowitt or other fine offset branded items are zero.

so next release 7.37 in the forthcoming weeks will only support meteobridge products when used with davis hardware and minor fixes raised by jason, bjarne and any other issues raised. as always im not interested in quantity of users .i just want to have something working smoothly without the bombardment of negative personal agenda type comments, emails these just pushe me away.

so chillout , have a drink and think before you hit the send button you might just get the answer you were looking for and at the end of the day its just a hobby not a profession or business you havent paid me anything and neither have i requested anyone todo so ..

as per FAQ i clearly highlight

7.How much does it cost?
Answer: Nothing it is free all weather34 designed work is free , free from being monitized (Monetization) , free from donationware an often abused phrase with a cover to make money . Weather34 does it for an hobby , Weather34 does not put a price tag on time it takes to accomplish , Weather34 uses software that is free https://code.visualstudio.com for MAC OS . Weather34 uses his own personal local hosted server to design on so no additional costs for hosting packages to cover or moan about.
Weather34 also uses ICDSOFT hosting for personal use and other projects not solely for Weather34 templates. Lastly you have already probably invested a fair amount of your earned money in your hardware to even consider using this so it is nice not to have to pay out for more and being free the choice is entirely yours to use or not without any obligations at all.

Brian,

I used to have an old WS-1001 which was supported with your template many years ago. Then support dropped. No bitchin' & moanin' from me. I just had to live with the version I had and make any updates myself as best I could.

How many Android phone users are stuck on old releases because the HW vendor never bothered to retro-fit new Android releases to the old HW? Only a few vendors with lots of HW sales and coding resources put in that effort but it's not exhaustive. Even Apple doesn't retrofit iOS 13 to iPhone1.

People have no right to moan about a free service, provided by someone who's doing this as a hobby. If they had paid money, for a product that had stated ongoing support, then they would have a legitimate complaint. Not in this case. They have no right to give you grief.

Keep up the good work, and down with the whining freeloaders.

Brian

I tend to find this attitude of others is due to the fact some people have no life experiences. They demand everything for free, and want it now. They always pick the hard way in life, and blame everyone else for their own actions.

Morale of the story is, if you are one of these people, then treat people the way you would like to be treated too - With respect and courtesy, ask and not demand.

Will they listen? - hell no. every action has a reaction, and I dont blame you in the slightest for not supporting hardware that these (ab)users are owning.

ha jason ws1001 well if the hardware had lasted more than one summer probably continued with it , it was fun from a web perspective and once i stumbled across an idea that mr obrien had been using for his observer ip https://obrienlabs.net/redirecting-weat ... bserverip/
it was so easy in the end all i did was modify his original code to suit the ws1001 hence what became a popular file ws1001.json but sadly the hardware was awful and even worse once you opened it up i just couldn’t understand why they cost so much .

simon no need to comment its a minority and as far im concerned they can kiss my ass , i have little time for personal agendas , show me some constructive views and ill listen , engage , acknowledge and implement but send me an email because of something is a amiss that i have absolutely no control over or involvement is unwarranted ,selfish and unproductive. as above its not a loss to me just something less to focus on and move on to more productive areas.

anyway there is plenty of other templates to support ecowitt or whatever it is branded as..

Hi Brian! I always keep track of all updates. I probably shouldn't have applied the latter (11th June 2020 (update files to update from 5.34 to 6.34)). Now the correct display of the pressure dimension (mmHg) has" flown". I should install this version again (https://weather34.com/homeweatherstatio ... alone.html)?

It would have been great to have found this webpage many years ago! I had a difficult time trying to sort out the right php code and settings on my ws-1001 to upload to both WU and Met Office WOW.

Meteobridge is great and makes all this so simple. I have 8 uploads going on as well as to your template and the active local console.

Hi Brian,

I notice that weather34.com has AQI not a PurpleAir. In the published template AQI has been superceded by PurpleAir (which I cannot afford). I've ordered off Amazon a SDS011 (which I can afford) and will extract data via my Raspberry Pi and send it to my website in a similar manner to mbridge/mb.php but with a different current data file.

Can you please share the weather34-aqi-info.php and the AQI.svg icon so I can add this next little element of data.

Thank you.

hello jason

sorry i dont use a raspberry im using dd-wrt i had old converted router laying around so im simply redirecting the data but im not going into any detail or getting involved in how to use iptables . best thing todo when you have it installed and configured to produce valid data to file send me a copy of that file with valid data and ill compile a version for you. however if was in uk i would have got the parts from https://weatherspares.co.uk/collections ... monitoring just the nova sensor and Lan controller and bought the other bits locally or search my junk box which i did for the tubes and piping .

Cheers Brian,

I think, based on what I expect from the reading so far that it will be something like this in mbridge/aqidata.txt:

Code: Select all

dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss xxx yyy
where xxx and yyy are in microgrammes per cubic metre for the respective PM2.5 and PM10 readings.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Brian,

I have successfuly install the v6.34 and the latest update (11.06.20).
I have noticed that the humidity data in the almach is missing for the all time value: it shows yesterday values instead.
Image
The strange thing is that your own almanac with Istanbul data is correct. Did I miss anything? Note that yesterday values were already displayed is the previous version I was running.

Second detail I have notice for a while is on teh temperature/feels like daily chart. The Feels like line really looks similar to the dew point chart. Is there any wrong source for the feels like?
Image

Thank you for all your great work.
Btw I was able to retrieve all my alltime values since 2015 and I have input them in meteohub as you told me. Works great!

I see one last thing, still on the almanac.
The value for the total rain since 2005 is wrong. It shows 2019+2020.

I see that the code is wrong:

Thanks !
