Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
Hi
I recently bought a new PC which is connected to the same LAN with Meteohub and my old one PC. All three devices are connected to the same router.
The problem is that in the Network list of Windows (of the new PC) Meteohub and its folders are not displaying and cannot be retrieved, although I have activated the option of sharing files with other computers of the same LAN.
I mention that the old PC still has the normal access to Meteohub local folders at the same time. I attach a Screenshot of Meteohub home page.
Any suggestion what to do to solve this?

Re: Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
Check under Windows network settings and make sure Ethernet connection is set to Private. This relaxes Windows Firewall. After changing this the Firewall will still be on but it allows for SMB to work.

Thanks for your reply, galfert.
Ethernet connection is already set on "Private", as you can see in the attached photo (it's in Greek
).
But I just mentioned that IPv6 connectivity says "No access to the network". Could this be the problem?

Then also make sure that the following settings are configured for Private networks:

These options are already checked.
Any other possible solution?

Re: Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
I see that the new computer is on Ethernet. If this cable is plugged into the network at a modem/router device and then you separately have the other systems behind a different router/WiFi then it is possible that you have 2 different subnets and they could be separated by firewall and you'd have what is also referred to as Double NAT situation. If that is the case then a computer on one subnet will not be able to see a computer on the upstream subnet.
To make sure that you are on the same subnet for all devices find out the IP address of all 3 devices involved.

Re: Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
First screenshot is the LAN panel from my router interface. Meteohub is not displayed here, but in the list of LAN clients (second screenshot) with the IP 192.168.1.93. Is it more clear for you now?
Re: Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
Can you ping the Meteohub from both computers?
From command prompt (run cmd):
>ping 192.168.1.93

Re: Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
Both Desktops can reach Meteohub interface through web browser (typing 192.168.1.77 or 192.168.1.93), but the new one Desktop is not displaying Meteohub folders on Local Network files, as you can see in the attached screenshot ("Diktyo" is Network in Greek). That's the problem...

Re: Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
Are both computers using the same network Workgroup which is usually called WORKGROUP just like that in caps?

Re: Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
If it still doesn't work then I recommend going through and reading this resource link below. I recommend not skipping ahead but rather you should go in order from top to bottom trying one thing at a time and then testing to see if the problem is solved. Hopefully you wont have to go through the entire write up. There are many things listed below in this link....do one at a time from top to bottom and stop when it works.

Re: Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
galfert thanks for the support, but my Windows 10 version doesn't have all the settings referred in the tutorial. For example in the Private Network Settings there is no option for "HomeGroup Connections". Also in the Ethernet settings there is no option for "making this PC discoverable". (The other suggested solutions are too difficult for me, so I stopped trying.
)
I don't know why these options are missing, but I guess it has to do with the Windows 10 version installed in my PC. It's fully genuine and activated, there is no such problem.
So let's get it otherwise. What if I try to reach data files via the browser interface of Meteohub. Can this be done? And what should I type after 192.168.1.77 in order to see the data folders? I try "192.168.1.77/public/graphs", but returns nothing. Is there another valid path to access the folders via browser?
Thanks anyway!

Re: Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
Well I don't own nor do I have any experience with a Meteohub. I was only offering help from the Windows networking side as that seemed to be the issue and not the Meteohub.
Maybe someone else can jump in and help with your Meteohub question. If you get no response then I suggest opening a new thread as you are now asking a different question than the OP.
As for the Homegroup missing that is expected. Microsoft has removed this feature from the latest Windows 10 builds. But I thought you could still benefit from following the rest. But it does get complicated. By chance is one of your Windows 10 a Pro version and the other a Home version? I don't know if that could be a problem but I was just curious. I only deal with Windows 10 Pro.

Re: Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
The old PC (which displays Meteohub folders) has Windows 10 Home. The new one (with the problem) has Pro. Probably that's the reason of the issue.
I didn't mention until now that the old PC connects directly to the router via WIFI, while the new PC connects through a Powerline device and also Meteohub connects to the router through the same Powerline. Could this make the problem?

Re: Meteohub local folders not displaying on new PC
Yes, I think the powerline kit may be the culprit. I've never liked those things. Maybe you can temporarily move the new PC for testing so that it connects directly to the WiFi router via Ethernet and see if you then can get to the Meteohub.
