NanoSD tracking rain inconsistently

Post by lightmaster »

Having an issue today where the NanoSD is not tracking rain correctly. Initially, the "Min/Max Data" tab said 0.00" for today, but the [rain0total-daysum:--] sent to my website was saying 3.2". Figured maybe a reboot would fix that, but now I'm getting different numbers from different places. The value for rain-total-daysum sent to my site is now 0.02", last 24 hours set to my site is 0.00", Min/Max Data has gone up to 0.02", the History "Edit Hour Data" tab says 0.00in", on the "Edit Minute Data" tab for 14:00-14:59 for today it shows a total of 0.16", a generated graph for today's rain shows 0.35". My Davis Vantage Pro2 console currently says 3.23" for the day. Rain has basically stopped for the moment, so no idea if it's gonna track correctly after the reboot.

What's the best way to fix the rain total for the day, since I do know how much it should be total right now?

Actually, rain has picked up a little bit since I took those screenshots, today's rain has gone up another 0.01", but the monthly rain and the last 24 hour rain, and the last hour of rain haven't changed.

Is date & time reasonably synchronized between Davis console and NANO?

Time is in correct on both right now. No idea what the time was prior to rebooting the NanoSD.

Got another 0.01" of rain before the rain stopped, and the counters all ticked up by 0.01" as expected, so think it's working now, at least as far as I can tell without any ongoing rain. Main concern is to get NanoSD updated with the hourly and total rainfall so it's totals are accurate again. Whats best procedure to edit data? If I use the edit minute data screen, will the hourly data screen and everything else update as well?

Well, found the problem. Daily backups of the database filled up the SD card. I have since freed up sufficient space on it and wrote down all the hourly data from the console, just gotta figure out how to correctly add that data to the NanoSD.

Stored minute data is just for exports and graphing. When you change that it will not effect the hour data and time resolutions above that.
When you want an effect on year/month/day you need to update the hour data.

So just enter the correct data on the "Edit Hour Data" tab and it will automatically update the other stuff then?

yes, day/month/year values will be automatically adapted if needed.
