Nano SD locking up. **solved**
I purchased a nano sd from Ambient 2 weeks ago. It only runs at the most 2 days, sometimes for a few minutes then locks up. Its not pingable and the database is not updating while locked up. Tried 2 factory resets and reconfigured instead for restoring the configuration file thinking it might be a configuration error on my part, tried many reboots by power cycle. Looking for suggestions on what to try. Its current locked up during the time of this post.
Its does update my test weather page, CWOP & weather underground successfully when it is working.

Black or Red strap? What is the status/functioning of your network like?

Red strap, Network should be good. The VP is 5 feet from the router. One thing I noticed just now the years for storage available was 7.8 yrs last time and this time the years of storage shows 3.5 yrs.

Re: Nano SD locking up
Red strap. Are you using the original standard Davis power pack or did it come with a power pack?

Re: Nano SD locking up
Davis USB 1amp 5 volt DC power supply.
Re: Nano SD locking up
Not sure if this may be your problem. From the forum.
Newvocore2.pngMeteobridge NANO: adds TX power boost mode for the new batch of NANOs (left picture, with a red strap instead of a black strap). This option makes use of the better RF power emission of the new batch of VoCore2 modules. Please be aware that this mode draws so much power that the console needs support by additional batteries or (better) a more juicy power supply (minimum 500 mA). The standard 300 mA power supply of the Davis console cannot feed this mode, voltage will plump on WiFi operation and make the NANO reboot. Please use this mode only, when you experience WiFi reach problems. If your WiFi operation is fine, don't mess with this mode. Black strap NANOs don't have this option.

Re: Nano SD locking up
The Nano SD is about 5 feet from the router. I checked the router and it shows full scale signal. After the last reboot i disabled weather underground, CWOP and WD live uploads to see if one of those is the issue. The Nano has been running since yesterday at about 5:50pm.

Re: Nano SD locking up
With 1.8gb storage and 1.7gb free, one would expect the years to be way above 6.3 years?
Your RAM used appears normal
I have a ATP SLC 1.7gb total, 1.5gb free (12% used, 265.2 years)
SW version 5.5 (Dec 22 2022)

Re: Nano SD locking up
8 reboots to get it going again. Turned off all uploads.
Can it run without the SD card for a test? I would like to plug it into the laptop to test it. Will that void the warranty?
I have a Scan disk SDSDQED-032G-XI as a spare for my camera. I can install it for a test if the warranty will be maintained.

Re: Nano SD locking up
The system won't allow any storage that is not on the approved list.
A NanoSD with storage removed reverts back to straight Nano. Plugging the SD card into a laptop might not provide anything useful due to formatting etc?

Re: Nano SD locking up
Does anybody have these Davis sensors? If so can you try theses transmitter ID's to see if it breaks your Nano SD? I have a neighboring station so I selected these open transmitter ID's. See below. Without the Nano installed the VP console finds the transmitters in less then a minute. With the Nano installed it can take up to 10 minutes on power up. Is this normal?

Re: Nano SD locking up
Update, After 48 hours of uptime I turned on CWOP. This morning I turned on Weather underground. So far so good. I will let each run 12 hours before turning the next upload on. I am not sure what else to do so giving it a try. I have high hopes of retiring the PC so I would really like this to work.

Re: Nano SD locking up
Stability problems are usually power supply related. Please try a beefy 5V supply and add batteries into the console. Doing so has removed any stability issues in a lot of installations.

I have CWOP, weather underground, WDL and graph uploads on. So far so good. I left my web page upload off. I am going to let it run a week and if no issues turn it on. Its a modified WL template from 20 years ago. Maybe that's the problem? www.mlmweather.com/MB.html
I have a 1amp 5volt dc power supply and batteries tested at 1.58VDC. The VP2 came with the 1amp USB power supply. I did buy a 3amp 5VDC. Would that be enough? Haven't wired the plug for it yet. Will wire it up this coming weekend.
