Problem with two Davis stations. **solved**

Problem with two Davis stations. **solved**
I have 2 weather stations 1. Davis Pro2 and 2. Davis Vantage Vue.
I have set the Pro2 as 'Primary Station' with the following settings
Model: "Meteostic Vantage"
Settings: "receive RF data via console(retransmit)" and
Transmitter #2: "ISS"
because Pro2 has ID:1
In Vue I have set ID: 4
I tried adding it as 'Station 1' as follows
Model: "Meteostic Vantage"
Settings: "receive RF data directly" and
Transmitter #4: "ISS"
But it was a failure! There was no indication in the "live data" menu!
I tried as Model: "Vantage" but again failure!
Is there any other way to have both stations in meteobridge?
Thanks

Re: Problem with two Davis stations
Please define just one weather station. Each of the "Meteostick Vantage" definitions can handle multiple Transmitters. See example below of a PRO2 which receives data from 2 ISS, one with ID1 and the other on ID3.
Re: Problem with two Davis stations
I set Pro2 station with ID 2 and Vue with ID 5 with "receive RF data via console(retransmit)"
In the live data menu, however, there is no data from sensor Indoor #5
Why?

Re: Problem with two Davis stations
Indoor data is not part of the RF communication. Indoor data is generated by the consoles and not shared via RF.
Meteobridge does have one indoor sensor (also providing pressure).

Re: Problem with two Davis stations
I'm coming back to the same topic.
I have set
Pro2 with ID 1 and receive RF data via console(retransmit) with ID 2
Vue with ID 4 and receive RF data via console(retransmit) with ID 5
With receive RF data directly and sensitivity from -70 to -95db
If I define Transimeter 1(Pro2) and Transimeter 4(Vue) showing data from Vue only!
In order to display data from both stations, I must set Retransmit and Transimetter 2(Pro2) and Transimetter 5(Vue)
P.S.
If I set only one station with receive RF data directly this is what happens:
If Transmitter 1 to 8 (Pro2) no data is displayed!
If Transmitter 1 to 8 (Vue) then data is displayed
Conclusion: Pro2 only shows data in Retransmit!
Is there any other setting I need to do?
SW Version: Meteobridge 5.9 (Apr 10 2024, build 3189), FW 1.3

Re: Problem with two Davis stations
Sorry, I don't understand your setup, problem and conclusion.
Re: Problem with two Davis stations
I have two stations connected to meteobridge
1. Davis Pro2
2. Davis Vue
If I select "receive RF data directly"
meteobridge only receives data from Vue and not from Pro2!
If I select "receive RF data via console(retransmit)"
meteobridge receives data from both stations!
P.S.
If I connect only the Vue station,
meteobridge receives data in both cases (directly and retransmit)
If I only connect the Pro2 station,
the meteobridge only receives data if I select retransmit!
Conclusion
The meteobridge receives data from the Pro2 station only if I select retransmit!
Can you explain why this happens?

Well I can, I had similar situation testing a new VUE to replace an old VP2.zakos52 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 13, 2024 2:18 pm If I connect only the Vue station,

The ISS-VP2 is too far away from the Meteobridge so that the Meteobridge does not hear the ISS-VP2.
Maybe a weaker / older transmitter or whatever.
The Console-VP2 is close enough to the Meteobridge or has a stronger signal and the retransmit from the console is heard by the Meteobridge.
Your ISS-VUE can be heard by the Meteobridge either directly (ISS) or via re-transmit by its console.
Can be less distance, better batteries, newer better electronics a.s.o.

1. The VP2 station is new (purchased March 2024 - new batteries) to replace Vue (which was bought 5 years ago and also has new batteries).
Therefore, there is no battery issue!
2. The console is only 7 meters from VP2 and 9 meters from Vue.
Therefore, there is no issue of distance
3. VP2 was built in December 2023 and apparently has newer electronics than Vue which was built in late 2018!
I hope there is some explanation for the problem!

Re: Problem with two Davis stations
There will be no data from any "indoor" sensor using retransmit (as such), as re-transmit simply re-transmits the raw ISS data from the ISS. nothing from any indoor sensors, indoor sensor data would come from a console or (MB) receiving the re-transmit.
In the Live data screen shot [0 Wind] & [0 Wind #5] are both receiving data based on the Signal
Similar with [0 Rain] & [0 Rain #5]
[0 Outdoor] & [0 Outdoor #5] both have data
So what was your question again?
Re: Problem with two Davis stations
I repeat the question once more:
Why can't the meteostick receive data from the ISS of the Pro2 directly, but only by relaying through the console, even though it is only 7 meters away from it?

Re: Problem with two Davis stations
Can not answer that one as I can't duplicate your issue but then I am using a MBPro2 in conjunction with a Davis VP2 ISS and Davis Vue ISS
It would also probably be good if you stopped referring to the VP2 as a Pro2, a Pro2 is also a MB device and a Pro2 (MBPro2) has no problems receiving data from both a VP2 (Vantage Pro2) ISS and Vue (Vantage Vue) ISS either directly or re-transmitted from a VP2 or Vue console.
One thing you could look at is the Tx ID's and possible close range interface within the frequency spectrum? Have you tried any other TX ID's apart from 1/2 & 4/5?

Re: Problem with two Davis stations
I have tried all IDs from 1 to 8 but still the meteostick does not receive data directly from the ISS of the Pro 2
The same thing happens now that I have only connected the Vantage Pro 2 to the meteostick
the meteobridge only receives data if I select retransmit!
Could the problem be solved in the next software update?

Re: Problem with two Davis stations
My Vantage Pro 2 ISS (Davis 6323) does not include a console and was manufactured in November 2023.
The label (image) contains the information for this model.
There may be changes in the communication protocols for this station, that's why the meteostick can't receive live data, but only through the relay console (retransmit)?
P.S
I have only connected the Vantage Pro 2 ISS to the meteostick
The meteobridge only receives data if I select retransmit!
