Ecowitt HP10 Camera on Meteobridge. **solved**

Post by grwkak »

Looking at adding a webcam to my weather set-up. I am curious whether anyone has an Ecowitt HP10 on their Meteobridge and their experience in set-up and accessing images?

Would you try and fetch the image from the URL where your pictures go to Ecowitt.net?

My MB fetches from my camera via URL. It is local in my network as the camera has this available.

Put the address in and try it.

Some other way:

I use a HP-10 without any problems.

One can locally test the image-capture with the "http://192.168.0.102/capture"
-> replace example 192.168.0.102 with your HP-10 IP-address

Add this link to your Meteobridge -> tab Station -> tab Cam
There will be a green check-mark if your local Meteobridge can access the camera and capture an image

The go to tab "Weather Nets"
-> scroll to "Meteobridge Weather Camera"
--> set to 5 minutes and test with the standard settings.
--> PRESS the Save at the bottom

The you can check the image by clicking 1 of the lens images in the "Meteobridge Weather Camera" settings.
The URL appears in the browser, the it the one to use in your website.

That looks promising. Seems like the camera can work stand-alone and I was wondering if the IP address access would work. I may try that. Many of the cameras I see seem to want you to subscribe to a cloud service and direct access to images over the LAN may not be possible.

The HP10 is a inexpensive "still" camera only.
Using your Meteobridge is the easiest way.

The HP-10 also stores the images on the ecowitt server and assembles a "movie" for 5 days.
But the links are different for every image and every movie.

Now I see why the HP-10 is not specifically listed on ISpy. It is simply an ESP32Cam. ISpy is the first place I go to look for capture info for a certain camera.

https://www.ispyconnect.com/camera/esp32

Glad to have stumbled upon this. (I read a lot lol) I have a few boards gathering dust and never thought to try. :D
