Davis forecast translations. **solved**

Post by wsnoordbergum »

I use the console weather forecast on my website in Dutch [forecast-textnl]
Is it possible to change the translation, because "windy" is translated to "winderig" but I think this should be "veel wind"
I guess the translation is not done locally on meteobridge but is loaded externally?
So the language files are not editable?

Any insight on how the translation is done would be appreciated

Davis forecast texts are hard coded in several languages. I changed "winderig" into "veel wind" for next release.

For the time being I made a small php script which replaces the string "Winderig" to "Veel wind" in a template file
As I am now using mostly CumulusMX on a raspberry Pi for my website data I use the meteobridge to send the forecast string to my webserver because the raspberry Pi it cannot get the console forecast directly
Because I really like the consoles forecast over the Cumulus forecast based upon the Zambretti forecast of CumulusMX
The script is executed once every 30 minutes and replaces some strings on the template file, CumulusMX then reads that template file and uses it to create the realtime gaugefile for the steel series gauges on my site
Thus giving the desired forecast
If the translation is adapted, I can simply return to normal use of the forecast string created by my Console and meteobridge without the replacement of strings by php
