Indoor temp is 112 degrees F! Help Please

Post by bobcrean »

Just setting up a Pro2. on Aurora, it's showing the "indoor temp" is 112 degrees F! The Davis Console says 82. Should I be forwarding data from the console? Is the temp I'm seeing the internal temp of the Pro2?
TIA

Indoor temp 112 Deg F is the temp inside the PRO2 (Box Climate) and not Indoor temp (as such). 112 Deg F is around 44 Deg C and fairly normal, Box (Inside) Temp will/can get hotter than that. Console temp of 82 Deg F (~ 28 Deg C) is more an Inside Temp and even that will be up by a few degrees due to heating within the console.

Since you have an MB Pro2, you can easily get a better reading for room temperature by sticking a SHT31 module in the IC2 connector in back of the MB (watch its polarity). That will measure temperature and relative humidity for the surrounding air.
The reading will show up in "Live Data" as Outdoor #9:

# Sensor Signal Metric Data Imperial Data
9 Data #10 5 sec 11% system load 11% system load
9 Data #11 5 sec 2.6h uptime 2.6h uptime
9 Data #12 5 sec 2% data store usage 2% data store usage
9 Data #13 5 sec 72% RAM usage 72% RAM usage
9 Data #15 5 sec 67 processes 67 processes
9 Data #16 5 sec 16sec since last data 16sec since last data
9 Data #14 5 sec 1.26W power 1.26W power
9 Data #17 4 sec 5.22V voltage 5.22V voltage
9 Data #18 4 sec 0.24A current 0.24A current
9 System #9 4 sec 38.3°C 22% 1018.0hPa (1018.0hPa) 100.9°F 22% 30.06inHg (30.06inHg)
9 Outdoor #9 4 sec 24.3°C 49% (dew12.9°C,hi24.3°C,wb17.2°C) 75.7°F 49% (dew55.2°F,hi75.7°F,wb63.0°F)

That room temperature & RV will be automatically shown in Aurora as "Indoor" data.

If you just want something in the ballpark, you can add an offset to thb0temp. I’ve got mine set at -25.7 degrees. It’s close enough.

Thanks for the replies. An offset won't work as I have the Pro2 out near the sensor suite in an enclosure with internet access. Where does the PRO 2 normally live? In doors, near the console? My understanding is that it needs RF communication with the sensor suite which is why I put it out near the sensor suite (about 100' from the house).
