Is it possible to remove the decimal from the beaufort value?
Official decimal beaufort values don't exist.

Re: remove decimal beaufort value
Hi Geert,
The request makes sense to me, but it's not a matter of just removing the decimal (our rounding), instead the conversion should be done according to the following table:

Code: Select all
Bft <- m/s
0 <- 0–0.2
1 <- 0.3–1.5
2 <- 1.6–3.3
3 <- 3.4–5.4
4 <- 5.5–7.9
5 <- 8.0–10.7
6 <- 10.8–13.8
7 <- 13.9–17.1
8 <- 17.2–20.7
9 <- 20.8–24.4
10 <- 24.5–28.4
11 <- 28.5–32.6
12 <- 32.7+

Hi Geert,
Your request is something that Boris will need to implement.
The main reason for listing the table is to make sure that the request is properly documented. My experience has learned that it is more likely that Boris is willing to implement something when the request is as complete as possible. Also, it's very frustrating for him if it turns out that the change is not living up to the expectations.

Thanks for taking care of my time. YJB's table will be part of the next update. Integer values will be reported by variables ending with "bftint" in addition to the "bft" ones already there.
