Keyboard problems

Post by oliverb »

I an attempting to reset my ALIX1b to sets IP to 192.168.1.77
using the command echo -e "auto eth0\\niface eth0 inet static\\n\\taddress 192.168.1.77\\n\\tnetmask 255.255.255.0" >/etc/network/interfaces

The problem is my keyboard is wrong ie the key don't match what I am typing.
Is there an easy solution to this?
I have tried PS2 and usb with the same problems.
Edit I think this could be a keyboard mapping problem?
Thanks.

I have had a look on the net and I think my meteohub is set to use a QWERTZ (German) keyboard rather than my QWERTY (UK/USA) keyboard.

Is there a command I can use to change my meteohub system to accept QWERTY keyboards?

Thanks.
Brett.

You can try:

dpkg-reconfigure console-data, this brings up an interactive menu with keyboard layouts.

Thanks for that YJB. My keyboard works fine now.

Now my keyboard is working I was able to type the commands in the forum topic below to make my Meteohub visible on my network again.
