Hello all - I port forwarded 22222 between the router and weatherlinkIP but still no luck
Just to reconfirm weatherlinkIP is installed connected via Ethernet and is reporting accurately to both weatherlink live and my VWS desktop software. The only missing "link" is getting weatherlinkIP to communicate data to the weatherbridge? Any other thoughts or suggestions from the folks on this board would be most appreciated!
Thanks!
Paul

Interesting that your WLIP has Firmware v113 while the latest version on the Davis website is v112.

Port forwarding 22222 between router and WeatherlinkIP does nothing but open up the port on your firewall for outside (Internet) access. You don't want that....so undo that.

The next thing I would suggest is to turn off VWS software. That is hogging the WeatherlinkIP and not releasing it. You hadn't until now mentioned that you were also running VWS. You can't run multiple weather software with WeatherlinkIP. For that there was once a program called Virtual Vantange Pro or simply VVP that allowed you to share the Weatherlink with multiple software by providing each software a virtual connection. Sadly that program is no longer supported and there are some drawbacks to using it. It would seem you need to choose....Meteobridge or VWS. But actually there is a way you can continue to use VWS and Meteobridge at the same time. You reconfigure VWS to talk to the Meteobridge instead of talking directly to the WeatherlinkIP. This is because the Meteobridge has a passthrough mode.

Another consideration is to upgrade to a WeatherLink Live device (WLL) instead of using a WeatherlinkIP. The WLL is a standalone device that sees all your sensor transmitters without using the console. The WLL will be used for Meteobridge and many other programs at the same time. See the WLL does not have this limitation of only talking to one software program, because it uses a different method to communicate on the network using what is called a local API. Some of the other programs you can run simultaneously with the WLL are Meteobridge, Weather-Display, WeeWx, and Cumulus MX. Plenty to pick from so that you can retire VWS which is a no longer supported application.

TIP - Nobody calls it a WeatherBridge. That is simply Ambient's marketing name for their version of the Meteobridge. The only difference is that a WeatherBridge comes with an Ambientweather.net upload license. But a regular Meteobridge gotten elsewhere can be upgraded to have a Ambientweather.net license ($150), but the device is still just called a Meteobridge.

Thanks for spotting this. This is extremely important!

Latest WLIP FW is 113 but Davis for some strange unknown reason just don't make it available, same with the VP2 & Vue firmware which also has firmware they don't acknowledge even exists and can't be downloaded

I wonder if the OP set up a guest network on his router and connected his WLIP to that might resolve any issues with other devices on his network trying to access the WLIP and thus interfering with his firmware update attempts and his connection with his Meteobridge ( Weatherbridge).
I recall a recent thread where a NanoSD owner was unable to access his NanoSD except by creating and connecting to a guest network.
