Envoy 8X and Raspberry PI: missing Leaf Wetness data

Post by WS Heinenoord »

For a couple of years I have an Envoy 8X running, but apart from using it as an independent back-up and for hosting a second Leaf & Soil station there's little other use.
Today I downloaded Meteohub 5.1b for a trial in Raspberry PI. Amazingly well prepared that image, only the link to the "ImageWriter" from SuSE for Windows leads to a site requiring login details (ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/kiwi/ImageWriter.exe). But not that difficult to find a free alternative imagewriter on the net. Win32DiskImager.exe worked well.
The RPi was not that clear on when it was signaling its IP address, but login to the modem gave the right address.
The Setup guide was clear and the RPi was directly running well.
However a serious problem appeared with the two leaf wetness sensors of Soil&Leafstation nr. 1. Leaf sensor 1 wasn't showing and sensor two had erroneous readings. While the Davis console, the parallel Envoy 8 and de WDTU1.2 for the Envoy 8X showed all leaf wetness readings were normal.
When hooking up the regular Envoy 8 to the RPi, in parallel to the Envoy 8X as Station1 both leafsensors showed up and with correct data.

So it must something wrong in the data download from Envoy 8X.
I realize the Meteohub team is not that interested in working on the no longer available Envoy 8X.
But it could be perhaps a simple bug / typo in the data call / processing.
It could also be a bug in the Meteobridge Pro Black, I fear.
As said on other occasions, there hardly an alternative for using the Envoy 8X for website uploads. And thus for 2nd Leaf/Soil stations.
I could just move both envoy's to the RPi with Meteohub, but then the option for an independent back-up is lost.
So a 5 minute look would be very welcome and much appreciated!

Thanks for any help!
