MB Pro humidity discrepeancies

Post by FishH2o »

I have a vantage pro 2 and the console is reporting 75% outdoor humidity but the MB Pro live data is showing 85% outdoor humidity. I didnt think the MB Pro had an offset value one could set so im not sure whats going on. Any sugestions?

the humidity setting should be in the Weather Station tab of metobridge. "Humidity Stretch" as seen here: https://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index. ... ct_Station

mine is set to 0 ->0% and 98%->100%

it take you to tweak it over time.

From the meteobridge site it states this :

"When you have a humidity sensor that only reports values from 5 to 95 relative humidity, you can stretch its values to the full range of 0-100. Value ranges are controlled not to leave [0..100] interval."

My interpretation of this is if your sensors report 0 - 100 % RH then you don't need to adjust this. I have a Davis Vantage pro 2 and the manual say it reports 0 -100 % RH. If im interpreting this incorrectly please let me know. By the way i have those settings at 0 and 100 right now.

Another thing is i just added this ISS replacing a vantage vue ISS this morning. If I look at the history in the MB Pro the VUE RH was reporting what the console of the new ISS is reporting now. However, I see about a 10 point increase on the MB Pro live data.

Thank you for the response maybe on the right track.

what the manual says and what your Davis humidity Sensor does are two different things. thats why we change the upper value.

iver time you will see your humidity on the system NEVER reaches 100%. this is why you change the upper value to equal your highest value you have seen. do not change this value until you have a very wet day. then you can see what your upper limit is. mine over time showed 98% max for humidity even on a totally wet day.

so I changed my upper limit to 98. so 98 = 100% understand????

changing from a Vue to a Vpro2? you might see more data if your interval timings are different perhaps.

Understood! The issue is im in a very very DRY environment humidity is around 15 - 20 % all the time. We get 16 inches of rain a year average. Im just seeing 10 points higher with the new ISS vp2. If I were to set the VP2 to retransmit and not connect directly to the ISS i will get the same reading as I did when I got the VUE. just seems odd it sends the one value to the monitor and a different to the MB Pro.

So if I lower the upper value to say 90.0 will that lower the dewpoint/humidity because thats what happend as soon as i switch the dew point went up 10 Points.

Thank you sooooo much for your help and knowledge.

Are you comparing the same humidity source? The MBPro has its own Box Climate, Temp & Humidity and in areas of low and constantly low humidity then the Box humidity would be close to the outside humidity.

The indoor humidity from the MB Pro is showing 10% and outdoor 25% right now. Yesterday the MB PRO indoor was max 30% and the outside was max 53%. This is with the windows open all day so it should be very close I would think.
