Not entirely sure about how this works.
On the Meteobridge Interface I can click 'Backup' and the settings are saved, in my case as a file called 'meteobridge-2017-05.config.txt'
When I want to 'Restore' I can browse to this file and the settings are restored. All is good.

It certainly was a good trick. It now connects okay and can now connect Meteobridge to the Huawei device.

Did not work. Meteobridge just cannot find the Internet. Works on home wireless network, just not this device.

Bit the bullet and tried it. It did not work nor did it break Meteobridge. Only had to do a full reset and setup to get going again.
I have seen a micro USB to ethernet adapter that goes into these modems. Wondering if that will work?
Anybody tried one of these adapters?

For what it is worth and because of lack of response from other members I will put my views forward.
I had a very similar problems with my VP2 and Meteobridge not talking to each other. Went on for ages on an intermittent basis.
The fault was less frequent when I used a USB hub between the 2.

Currently I have my Meteobridge connect by ethernet to my home modem/router.
I can log on to Meteobridge no problem.
What I would like to know is if I go to the Network tab and enter an SSID and password
which belongs to my Huawei E5377 mobile modem, then change the network setting from LAN to WLAN ...

I gave Admin access to my meteobridge and he turned off 'retry indefinitely'. Been working okay since. Give that a try.

Why do I need to cycle power so often?
Early June this year and again 1st July Meteobridge seemed to stop working.
Looking at the Live Data tab it says something like 'No http upload activity" and 'No Weather Network'.
Everything else looks okay. I have to turn the power off for a minute or so and turn it back on again.
