Good evening
I would probably guess its lat/lon related ? timezone related generally what causes that module to go blank when either a typo or a hidden space is inserted or incorrect typed timezone structure . if you get stuck pm url with password to setup which you can change at any time .

if possible pm before end of tomorrow of on our travels again..
oooh god, I had reversed Europe / Rome with Rome / Europe

all solved, thanks and happy new year

Hello Brian, and All
Hope you had a great evening yesterday.
Thank you for the correction.

But now I have a question about updates... I need someone's help.
New updated files are available almost everyday when you do a modification after, a request from users and everyone seems to be able to upload them. I don't know how to.
I have followed the explanation on the MB-SMART site, ie open the settings and click on "UPDATE or RUN A BACKUP". The updater opens but no new MB-SMART-UPDATE-XXXXX.zip is available. So how to proceed ?????

Then I tried to download the version 2.0, because I am running the 1.07A. I did it successfully, but lost my data (the *.csv files). I was able to retrieve them, but in fact I am not sure to run the version 1.07A, because it my menu on the left, it still shows *DOWNLOAD MB-SMART VER 1.07A". For info I also lost part of my settings, not all.

Well, as you understand, I am missing the point somewhere...
Thank you !! :D
Alain

Hi as of January 1st smart updates are available to be used with version 2.0 onwards this was planned for some months to release updates via that method after January 1st.

install version 2.0 and thereafter you can use the simple updater if and when they are available .the current version 2.0 download as all the updates pre installed as of January 1st !

in the future simply download the update zip i.e 31FEB2020.zip and place it in the main folder where the template is installed on your server. the updater will find it and it will appear in the dropdown just select and click update.

don't use the updater for version 1.07A or earlier because the updater will only have a small amount of files with fixes for version 2.0 only.
This was was used for a short period in 1.07a to test and iron out any issues prior to January 1st 2020.

as it January 1st 2020 now or later the 2019 chart data is not used unless you modify the charts for your own personal use or preference to display last year or year before etc depending on many years you have been using I have it back to 2017 and sometime this year I will try and introduce charts to support previous years on a separate page like the alternative version charts but thats something for the future.

settings1.php is the file you need to keep a copy on your PC for keeping settings and using if you don't want to go through the setup procedure .just simply keep a copy on your desktop and upload it when you have done new install . No changes were made to the main settings1.php or setup screen.
Only the alternative layout had a minor change to setup screen based on 12/24 clock .

Im really sorry but as of tomorrow(Jan 2nd) morning Im not available for some weeks so I can't be of much assistance to help you or try and explain in easier terms.Ive done my best to prepare everything for January 1st 2020 and addressed the minor metric/non metric setting issues today but Im out of time for a while and could be longer I have had an offer of a 2 year deal to work on a project thankfully not weather related still digesting it and whether I want to make that commitment on a monday-friday basis kind of got used to my own time and doing things without obstacles of commitments to work schedules .

Sorry your confused or missing something but time is not on my side for now. Perhaps others can help there are quite a few knowledgeable experienced users around that have been a constant help for a few years now.

still confused ? probably even more so now :-) weather stuff is never straight forward in fact Im beginning to loathe it , it is a tedious task maintaining a template with all the complexity of non metric versus metric versus languages doesn't matter how hard I try always something pops it head up and think to myself how did that occur ,how did I mess that up because its generally me that screws up :-) .
can only say always allow a bit of time to learn and become accustom too to something new unfortunately Im not the best educator I just tend to do it rather than explain it . Brian...

as above I've no idea but I suspect something amiss in the API output or how meteobridge interprets old data

classic change of year teething issue that doesnt arise all year round so chances of resolving prior is almost zero . as above Ive no remote access to any files on my home PC as I shut it down so it will be like that for a number of weeks Im afraid unless anyone has a solution or fallback to use.

classic change of year teething issue that doesnt arise all year round so chances of resolving prior is almost zero . as above Ive no remote access to any files on my home PC as I shut it down so it will be like that for a number of weeks Im afraid unless anyone has a solution or fallback to use.
Brian,

It also looks like we are dealing with two different versions of the Template. The Rain Almanac Module on my template (latest version), Ron's and Toto's is showing Rain - # of days ago. The other's are showing December rain. Also, in my case the rainalmanac.php is showing rain in December as 0.00.

Re: Weather34 MB-SMART NANOSD TEMPLATE

Post by weatherist34 »

hi chuck

there has been no change to either almanac rain or main month year rain modules scripts the template will only display what is generated from meteobridge in the api. the template does not control what is sent to it .so i am at a loss of what can be done from template side apart from removing the feature. basically the december value of 0.0 is what is in the api data so upto January 1st this was not visible so im leaning towards an anomaly related to change of year and how last months december 2019 data is interpreted in the api. if anyone has any ideas im all ears . so possible thought is does the string [rain0total-max@M1] only work in current year ?

Re: Weather34 MB-SMART NANOSD TEMPLATE

Post by weatherist34 »

to add to the confusion here is Singapore weather showing last months rainfall total ..orange dot area ..

the string used is [rain0total-max@M1] based on the template variables listed in the wiki
@Mn addresses monthly data n months in the past.
Example: "[wind0wind-max@M0] will return max wind speed of current month, while "[wind0wind-max@M1]" will return max wind speed of previous month.

Yes, I see what you mean. Strange. My firmware is a little behind, but I don't see anything in the newer releases that would change the API. I do see that Boris has just released a new one.

Yes, That’s what it looks like. Singapore is 13 hours ahead of me, so perhaps we will see a change later on. Maybe Boris will spot it, as well.

Take care,

Chuck
