ok, I understood it unfortunately in such a way that only the desktop version is no longer maintained.

I will now tinker this up so that I can use the NanoSD and the standalone console version in parallel :-)

stand alone version was designed/developed to be used as a standalone and has 50% less code.
I never imagined or thought users were going to run both , too me it doesn't make sense for many reasons as the console version is embedded in the NANOSD version so theoretically your basically running the same thing twice.

Unneccesary server load may reveal limitations of some hosting packages as you may start maxing out resources especially low cost server hosting packages where resources are already capped .

However the current "stay at home" gives you plenty of time to accomplish it ..

nice benefit of the Standalone version meteobridge NANO(SD),Pro,Tp link etc is now able to use the template and can't reiterate enough how much smaller the footprint is..

however results can vary as time of day(WWW load) or per hosting setups .ICDSOFT has the less talked about enhancement enabled brotli compression as most are still using the GZIP method .the differences are negligible but beneficial .
https://medium.com/oyotech/how-brotli-c ... d41e50fee4

so use the "Stay at home" time to learn/study about some of the finer points of hosting templates and remember weather templates are not static like most websites ..

have fun...

Hi Brian,

Hope all is well and you're all staying safe. We're basically in Lock-Down .. Doing OK Otherwise.
Regarding the Templates from this point on how do I get the updates for the Console since currently I'm using the Github app for updates do I need to reconnect to a different repository ?
I intend to continue to access the original larger Template from my PC's but I've been only using the Console on my iPads and iphones so the entire folder structure on web server is as original at this point. I understand the performance issues which may arise with other installations however it's not an issue for my setup. I guess my concern is when the updates to the Console apply will they still be compatible with my current folder structure and where do I get the updates.
Thank You and a Heart Felt 73s to you and your family.

we are fine and my wife now settling into working from home she initially had a two week period work from home but now extended 30th April with a realistic possibility indefinite .we basically converted our guest room into an office and had to allocated her my desktop Mac as she finds working on a laptop quite eye straining so do I .we have not left home for 17 days now and we had thought of going to our second home but that got shelved has it is forbidden to travel between regions/cities here in Turkey without authorized documents so we have just adapted and made the best of what we can do and not get disillusioned with the circumstances as its not just us its the same for everyone.

as for templates I can't offer support for those running multiple versions as both are different in many ways thats not so apparent on appearance its how there structured and the stand alone is very slim in code structure. the obstacle if running both versions is really going to be chart data because the paths are different in the actual chart files and in where meteobridge itself sends the data for charts. it requires some knowledge of PHP that I don't want to get into because the chances of everyone using the same structure is 50-50 and we could end up going round in circles .

strongly advise just use one to keep it manageable and at least some chance of offering support.

updates for the newer Standalone version https://weather34.com/homeweatherstatio ... alone.html
will come via a separate update file in due course using this screen(screenshot).
each update is structured to only update the Standalone version . example update-standalone-29-03-2020.zip

if you were to use that update on the NANOSD version it would not update the structure correctly and break it.

Cant reiterate enough the advice not to run both versions but the choice is yours I can only advise.
ive highlighted everywhere I possibly could about what the differences are but seems its not getting across

PLEASE DO NOT RUN BOTH VERSIONS SIMULTANEOUSLY I CANT HIGHLIGHT THIS ENOUGH...UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW TO SETUP MORE REQUESTS IN METEOBRIDGE

already 7 emails last hour and all related to running both versions simultanousely the issue is charts/forecast/air quality you can NOT run both simultaneously without creating extra 'get' request in the Services panel from meteobridge this will inadvertently create an extra load on meteobridge itself as well .
the two versions are completely different structure its like putting diesel into a petrol engine = fail..

im trying to help not complain ..

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the info about running both versions. If we decide to stick with the original version would it be a good idea to remove the Console folder from the server?

Take care!

NANOSD version has its own setup procedure in the meteobridge services panel https://weather34.com/homeweatherstatio ... setup.html

STAND ALONE setup version https://weather34.com/homeweatherstatio ... alone.html scroll down

there almost identical however the STAND ALONE VERSION has a simpler file structure

so this is the scenario Im seeing from those emails in the last hour examples on same server

NANOSD version installed
https://yourdomain.something/PWS/

Standalone Version
https://yourdomain.something/console

but meteobridge services is only setup to send to NANOSD version https://yourdomain.something/PWS/ so therefore the Standalone http://yourdomain.something/console does not get forecast/charts/air quality updates because the meteobridge services are setup to
populate the NANOSD version .

confused ? Confusion arises if running both versions , the nanosd version has the console layout option embedded so I don't understand why both need to be installed as you can use the console url in the NANOSD version to view in console it also has the SMART TV option layout. i.e https://yourdomain.something/PWS/consol ... edavis.php
all paths for data/charts/forecast are all aligned to work inside the NANOSD version

standalone version is simply a url https://yourdomain.something/console/index.php but is suited for all meteobridge devices i.e TP link as well
all paths for data/charts/forecast are all aligned to work inside the Standalone version.

large bottle of amber nectar please ...I don't know how else to explain but running both is causing the confusion or ,misunderstanding ..as above its like putting diesel in to petrol engine...

Brian,

This clears it up.

"confused ? Confusion arises if running both versions , the nanosd version has the console layout option embedded so I don't understand why both need to be installed as you can use the console url in the NANOSD version to view in console it also has the SMART TV option layout. i.e https://yourdomain.something/PWS/consol ... edavis.php

That is what I am doing - so no problem. I did not see an issue, since both are using the same data files.

I am assuming that the ongoing future updates will be specifically for the Console Standalone version and will not apply to the Console version embedded in the NanoSD version.

Thanks for the additional info and be safe.

Hi Brian,

I just moved over to the Standalone version. Basically just created a new directory console2 under my main web directory unzipped the standalone Weather34-MB-SMART-Console.zip into the console2 directory. I re-pointed my nano-sd to the console2 directory see example http://mydomain/console2/mbridge for the weather net and for the services http://mydomain/console2/chartstoday.php etc for the other services. I cheated a little and copied my console-settings.php from the original console then updated what was needed in the console-setup and all appears to be working. I also copied my data (year.csv and year directories) from the weather34charts directory to the console2\weather34charts.
All appears to be working at this point the charting appears to working well and the only thing odd is the almanac is not displaying Solar or Time modules.

Here is the link to the new Console https://weather.k1ttc.com/console2/index.php

I also re-created my console-settings just in case my copying the original from the old console caused the almanac issue which did not solve the almanac problem.

OH BTW I renamed the original template's index.php and the console's directory just to prevent access to the old setup.

Hi Ron,

I noticed the same issue after I applied the console update file (30-3-2020) earlier today. I rolled back the updated files and the 2 Panels came back.

I am still using both templates, but I may do as you have done later on.

Take care,

Chuck

That is the way to do it Ron " I also copied my data (year.csv and year directories)" if you want to use or transfer your old data if you have decided on using the Standalone version permantly .

once you apply the changes in meteobridge as per guide https://weather34.com/homeweatherstatio ... alone.html however this
does not allow you to run multiple versions
"both templates are structured different"
this is where everyone will hit the brick wall

sorry about the solar/clock almanac applied update to GITHUB or use small update file 48kb
