Pro Red with multiple ISS transmitters

Hi I have a Davis VP2 with remote wind transmitter and ISS that has 2 x 15m extension leads to remote rain and remote solar/UV. Currently using a Meteobridge Nano, but need to do some work outside that means the wiring between rain/solar sensors and ISS would become an issue. If I were to buy a Pro ...

Re: nano SD looses contact with console multiple times / hour

Does the Nano work OK in the other console?
If not, I would suggest returning it.

If it does, suggests an issue with the console itself.

Re: Request: Met Office WOW Camera Network

Ive tried the normal FTP method, its failing due to an authentication issue. Raised with WOW support as I can't connect from one of my RHEL VM's either, so its looking to be their end... I was a bit reluctant to use normal FTP as you can only define the single server and I wanted to use the for tran...

Re: Meteobridge Nano SD still broadcasting setup ssid

Great news :)

I brought the Nano-SD as I'm trying to simplify my plethora of VM's and if it does all I need out of the box without workarounds, them I'm happy!

Re: nano SD looses contact with console multiple times / hour

Random thought - is it the genuine Davis power brick?
Do you have batteries installed as well?

Just wondering if its worth ruling out a power issue first?

Re: Meteobridge Nano SD still broadcasting setup ssid

I had the pings failing on Sophos UTM / Virgin Media. I had to enable ping and ICMP passthrough on webadmin. Perhaps XG has something similar? If not, edit the below so the word newdomain and newdomain2 are your new ping targets. Careful to leave all the quotes etc the same. SSH in and run the scrip...

Re: Meteobridge Nano SD still broadcasting setup ssid

Ok, done some further investigation on this. In normal events, the 5 minute check will check connectivity and if the ping check fails, it restarts the networking stack. This will recreate the provisioning SSID as it brings up ra0. I confirmed this by blocking pings through my gateway. Actually this ...

Re: Meteobridge Nano SD still broadcasting setup ssid

why run this every 30 minutes? does the SSID enable itself every so often? Perhaps Boris could build this into the WebGUI so you can shut it "down" but a reboot will bring it back up again. I wanted it to run 30 mins after boot, but couldn't see a run-once option in the GUI. I didn't want to put so...

Re: Meteobridge Nano SD still broadcasting setup ssid

OK, so I have disabled the provisioning SSID on my Nano-SD, seemingly without ill effect. Firstly, this is at your own risk, unsupported by Meteobridge etc etc. It should be safe as it executes a standard Linux command to turn off, and part of the wireless init script on reboot explicitly turns it o...

Request: Met Office WOW Camera Network

Hi

Met Office have webcam support: http://wow.metoffice.gov.uk/support/webcams

Could we have a weather network for this, like the Wunderground camera one?

Many thanks

Re: test5m warnings.

Yep i'm with you there; on 2.4ghz, there are only 3 clear channels that you can use at HT40 and the Nano obliterates one unnecessarily... Lets hope Boris reconsiders and makes the Nano a good WiFi neighbour! Also running 2 x UniFi AP's and Sophos at the perimeter, although the upgrade from UTM to XG...

Re: test5m warnings.

I asked but i dont think it will happen. Thats a shame. If it were 5ghz then I wouldnt be concerned... Thinking about it, this would be really easy to implement without any GUI changes or user input: 1. on boot, a 60 minute timer is started 2. once timer is expired, a check is made if internet conn...

Re: test5m warnings.

Therefore, there is actual no plan to cut-off the ability to login to the WiFi of the NANO to change WiFi client settings. Can disabling broadcast of setup SSID be a feature request? In my environment, the 2.4ghz spectrum is very very congested with other SSIDs and this just adds another that is ef...

Re: Meteohub on NAS like Qnap or Synology

I don't understand German, but I assume this post is asking to run Meteohub on a NAS? If so, this can now be done! The QNAP TS-x53 and x51 devices have a "Virtualisation Station" plug-in where you can run virtual machines. I haven't tried them myself, but they use QEMU, which is a standard Linux hyp...
